Japanese

People who come from Southeast Asia should more or less have some exposure to Japanese, just like most people from the Western world would know some French phrases.

Japanese is well-known to be a polite language. There are different ways to call someone depending on his status. It also surprises me that it does not seem to have a lot of swear words, at least not that I know of.

I had a chance to visit Tokyo a few years ago, and picked up a few useful phrases there. I also noticed the use of Romanji was very popular.

The Japanese population is not huge in Toronto compared with other ethic groups. It is still a very attractive language to learn, due to its ease of pronunciation and simple sentence structures.
